Give Away 2 x Old Boys

Post by Jude on Thu Sep 17, 2009 2:19 pm

A friend of mine was running a Racing Stable near Clare - and they are selling their property and moving interstate.

They have 2 x old boys to give away as follows:

"If you know of anyone that wants two old boys, good companion horses or lawnmowers, let me know, both give aways. Prefer them to go together as they have been together so long. Kid is a 28 yo black standardbred and Rupert is a 20 yo thoroughbred. Both good to ride, but we haven't bothered for about 12 months."

Hi Jude,

I am sorry to say but I think they are going to struggle to find homes for horses of that age.

When were they last floated or moved off the property?

Good luck.

I agree with DC. You may have a little trouble with the 20 year old but shouldn't be too hard. I just sold a very healthy 22 year old. The 28 year old I think you'll find hard.

Yes I realise that it would be difficult - but it was worth a try!

Yeah all the best.

It's horrid to say but it's prob best for them to spend their last days at home. Change in place, people, routine, feed, water is alot for any horse.

Don't envy their situation
