Equissage Physiotherapy Service

Post by Dressage Diva on Wed Sep 02, 2009 10:18 am

I recently bought an equissage unit for my mare after seeing how beneficial it can be for muscles soreness (the results were amazing!)

The equissage can be beneficial for a whole range of injuries and illnesses such as:

Back problems
Breathing problems
Hindquarter problems
Hoof problems
Shoulder problems
Leg problems

The Equissage Physiotherapy system can help your horse by improving:

Local blood circulation
Venous drainage
Lymphatic drainage and reducion in swelling
Joint mobility
Respitory conditions
The release of tension

If you feel your horse could benefit from a session I am happy to visit you and your horse for a price of $30 per treatment (plus travel if excessive distance).

Please note, I am not qualified to assess your horses injury or provide medical advice - simply to offer the use of the equissage system in the capacity I have learned through my own experience.

Just a heads up make sure u get insurance before you do anyones horses... Not that you will do anything wrong, but if a horse ends up with colic or something after u need to be protected!!! Has happened to another person recently

Good luck with it DD.

We have used equissage on our horses, and love the results. Unfortunately, the person who used to travel up here to Pt. Augusta has left and no longer comes, which is a real shame.

If you ever want a trip this way just let me know. I could probably rustle up a 1/2 dozen takers!

we have one too and can swear by them!
i find it reduces warm up time with my bloke and gets him more supple and over in the back quicker.

also was our saviour in reducing swelling in the neck when he had a reaction to penicillion recently!

potluck- are you able to pm any info/advice/links about how it could be linked to colic? would be very interested if there's anything!!

Im don't think it was an equissage that caused the colic, but there have been a couple of cases on people treating horses with similare pieces of equiptment ans one horse got colic and once freaked out and njured itself subsantially and the person going out to do the treatment was liable.. People don't always want to sue but when there are vet bills worth thousands or a horse needing to be put down, things happen. That is why many people stopped going out doing treatments as the costs of insurance are huge, and if you are no quallified and insured then unfortunately you don't have a leg to stand on...
