| 3 year old taffy riding pony gelding, approx 14.2hh. Sire: Vale Park Spotlight, Dam: Lesfield Maddona. Jack is a very sweet natured boy with a very unique colour. Can be shy to start off with, but once he learns to trust you he is a very clever boy to work with. I started breaking him in, but due to other commitments i just havent had the time to finish him. Will make a stand out hunter or a wonderful pony dressage mount, as he is a lovely moving horse. Unfortunately my working hours have changed, and i no longer have time to have competition horses in work as well as babies to be broken in and educated, so something has to give. To the best of homes only. Please phone Dianne on 0407189614 or email dizee201@hotmail.com $1500 | |

| Very interested......
When you say started to break him in, how much have you done?
Ie: has he been mouthed / backed / basic groundwork etc?
Cheers | |

| Also should ask is he registered with papers? The shyness teamed with cleverness is a trait of a number of Sanlirras haha exactly same as my current Sanlirra boy | |

| yeh its definately a Sanlirra trait, and i love them for it... they end up so respectful but so loving, the only pony i broken is just the nicest natured pony He has had basic groundwork, he ties up (as all annes horses do!), fine to touch all over, fine to rug (but in saying that i can rug him without a halter and lead rope, but mum needs him to be tied up as she hasnt done as much work with him and he doesnt have the same trust in her), has been trimmed by the farrier no problems... i kept trying to break him in, so i taught him how to lunge, he spent heaps of time with a bridle on and a bit in his mouth (which he didnt care two hoots about), he has been equissaged (i put it on him and leave him standing in his yard eating a haynet, crazy unbroken pony!) and he has been lunged with a lunge roller. But everytime i got to this point something come up and i was unable to keep him in work. Hes currently unregistered but hes is eligible to be registered, im meant to be ringing anne with his markings so she can put in the paperwork for me. The only problem he has is a slight case of locking stiffle, it doesnt lock in the paddock, hardly ever does it in the yard and has never done it whilst being lunged. Ive consulted with my vet, and considering how minor it is he was fairly confident that once he is in work it shouldnt be a problem at all. It is this reason i was able to buy him cheaply, and im only trying to get the money i spent back. | |

| Ok no worries, I like to break from scratch so to speak so you said he has has a bridle on have you lunged him from the bit at all?? Just trying to establish how much his mouth has been touched because I obviously do things a certain way but have found the best mouths come from those youngsters who haven't been touched yet.... Also do you have any pics u can possibly email me? Don't care if they feral paddock picks just something to get an idea of his head and general conformation? My email is smdouglas@bigblue.net.au cheers | |
