EOI - Dante Empty
PostSubject: EOI - Dante   EOI - Dante EmptySat Jun 01, 2013 9:03 pm

Firstly the reason he is EOI is because of the weather and the arena I can use is under water so I thought I would gather interest from people I know/forum before he goes for open sale. This has been on the cards for a long time though.

Competitive and Well Trained Dressage horse/All-rounder
Dante is a 15.2hh, 12 year old Stock horse X QH.

Dante would make a great competitive mount or pleasure horse/all-rounder. He is trained to Novice (scoring in the high 60’s in his last dressage test) with some elementary movements established and potential to move up the levels. Has been to hack and dressage shows and has never come home unplaced, including wining Champion in his class at his very first show in 2009. In the last 12 months he has mainly been trail ridden however he does not need “bringing back into work” as he happily goes straight back into dressage work when asked with no fuss. Can leave him for months and get back on without a problem. Jumps around 60 – 80cm comfortably with scope to go higher (I’m not a big jumper however Dante has given me much needed confidence with Jumping). Recently a more experienced rider has been show jumping him with great success and he is set to do his first jumping event with her soon.
Is an easy point and shoot type when it comes to jumping.

Happily goes to the beach/forest or whatever you ask, will go for a gallop one minute then happily go straight into dressage work the next. Has been ridden by my 7 year old sisters independently and has had taught beginners to ride under supervision. Easy to catch/shoe/float/handle etc. Very easy to keep horse.

Not for nervous rider or beginner, however he has no nastiness in him.
This horse is a genuine all-rounder with talent for many different disciplines and movement to burn. He will not disappoint!

Genuine (and very very though) sale due to study/work and travel commitments.

$7000 with tack (including Saddle, Bridle and Rugs), negotiable to the right home. No payment plan, no lease. Vet check welcome!

Thanks ATJ for making this for me Smile

Dante's next event will be Williamstown Pony Club Dressage, following that he will be a Barossa Valley ODE. I am happy for anyone who is interested to come to there events (as a matter of fact I encourage it). Once the draw comes out for Williamnstown I will post his times. She should be riding him in the 1C and 2C and she's only ridden him for 2 weeks prior to the event, further proof he is ready to step out and compete with any rider Smile

Williamstown Dressage

Well this horse proved me very right when I say he is ready to go out and compete with a new rider right now! Chloe has ridden Dante 4 times and he has had only 6 rides back in work (2 from me, 4 from her). We got there late, in true Sally fashion so Chloe had time for about 2 circles at trot and 2 at canter to warm up then she went straight in... and rode a 1st place, 70% perlim test!!! I was so happy! They only made tiny errors in the test, but comments were along the lines of horse has nice places, and tactfully ridden.

Her second test was the novice which had some rider error like missing a transition by about 15m and nearly forgetting a few turns, then making a mess of them. However she still placed in 6th place with 62.7%. Dante was very accurate in this test (aside from the missed transition, wasn't his fault), more marks could come from riding the lengthen moves out a little more however all in all it was a nice, clean test.

We were stoked with the comments from bystanders too, everyone commented on how nice and easy going he was. All day Dante was perfectly behaved, we left him standing at the float for hours on end with no fuss. Easy to load, travel, plait wash etc, generally a very fuss free show horse.

His next event is Barossa Valley ODE which will be his first ODE and in fact his first event where he will be required to jump. We encourage people to come and see him at this event, he won't disappoint!

I'm open to offers on Dante now, as he is for sale not EOI. When I get my act together (and money) he'll be in HD.

and as fast as he went on the market, he's gone on trial! However he is a tad big for the girl trialling him, so he may come yet if she can't get used to bigger movement. If so, he'll go back on the market.

He's coming back because she couldn't get used to the bigger horse, he was however from all accounts well behaved and this excursion proved he is suited to a younger rider so long as they are strong enough to ride a "big" horse. (This girl was very little though).

Though this isn't the best news, it means Chloe can get back out on him. Due to the Rules for barossa changing a week before the event chloe can't ride, as she's only an EA member, so instead we're going to the open x-c day at Wendy's. Depending on how he goes there we'll either pay chloe's PC membership or just go EA newcomers. If he does go newcomers, and go well, we'll register him EA and go from there, but then his price will reflect this...

That's a bit unfair, changing the rules a week before the event. I would love to buy Dante, but dad said if I wanted another horse I would have to sell Iris, so that's me out. I hope you find a lovely home for him.

sometimes these things are meant to be - I was never more glad when Huey came home. I think we were meant to enjoy him for a few more years - even if HA's legs are on the ground by the time we've finished with him.

Thanks guys!

Yes, something will turn up - I have more interest in him and people lined up to ride him - he was a good kid today hoping for another good ride tomorrow!

I'm ready to sell him and see him thrive in a new family, he has been stimulated and happy with chloe!
