Quiet Horse Wanted

Post by fitgirl75 on Thu May 28, 2009 4:43 pm

On behalf of a friend of mine.
She is looking for a quiet horse for mainly pleasure riding and occasional hack shows. So some education would be good
6yr - 12yrs old
14.2hh - 15.2hh
must be good to catch/shoe/float
good out on trail rides, good on roads/forest/beach etc
quiet enough for her kiddys to be led around on occasionally (only does it a couple of minutes)
she says no TB's (I don't think she would want a standie either but I would have to double check)
I think she is willing to spend up to and around $2000 but willing to pay more for the right horse.
she is looking for a horse that doesn't need constant work, kind of pull out of the paddock and go for a ride type
Horse would be extremly well looked after and kept on private property,
Pm me if ya know anything that would suit
Cheers
Fitty Very Happy

hey pepper, yep thats the pinto she is selling, unfortunately he is a bit young and needs a lot more work than she can give him. He is a great little horse and has heaps of potential just need someone with more riding time and experience to take him further.
She has had heaps and heaps of calls for him both here and interstate so i reckon he will be gone by end of weekend.

(We are going to have a look at AG's Dudley coz I reckon he would be perfect for her.)

yep me thirds - when she bought him we were all a little surprised as she had not had a riding horse for over ten years (I think) anyway I think it was a bit on impulse coz of his colour. But she has done well with him and he has improved leaps and bounds since she has had him but he really needs someone with more time to work him properly.

sheesh, some guy wanted to buy him for his 11yr daughter as a surprise!!!
yeah surprise kid here's your new un educated horse to grow up with! Rolling Eyes

Well my friend has now decided not to sell her pinto. After having so many time wasters and also mainly due to the fact that he has proven himself to be a very good boy over the last few weeks she has decided (i kinda convinced her) to keep him.
She was originally selling him coz she has not much time to put into him. But we went out for trail ride after him having three months off and he was a little saint. she has also ridden him in a strange arena and he was excellent. ]
Sometimes I think you have to almost sell a horse to realise that its good enough to keep (if that makes sense?) Very Happy

It does make sense Fitgirl. I put an ad on Aushorse years ago to sell Captain & i put a few weeks work into him & found i was having too much fun with him & he was too much of a good boy to sell. Funny thing was that this really posh sounding woman rang up about him & when i said i had changed my mind, she said "oh you shouldn't do that, my son is going to be heartbroken, you shouldn't get children's hopes up like that". I said "you haven't even made the trip out here to see him yet, why let the kid get his hopes up about a horse you haven't even seen?". Rolling Eyes
