Wanted Western Saddle

Post by soozi5 on Wed Nov 04, 2009 11:19 pm

Hi, Im looking for a 16 or 17inch western saddle, for a high withered horse, would prefer in SA as I would like to try it on my mare...
Would prefer a second hand good one rather than a near new cheapie...
Colour not important, matching bridle if available...
Hope someone out there can help...
Thanks,
Sue

Hi Sue,

Did reply in the intro section.

What area are you in? We are in Port Augusta, but coming to town shortly for the Horse Trials, and then back into the hills the week after.

Can probably arrange to bring and let you try it - all of this is if my daughter agrees to sell. It is my saddle but wouldn't sell it without her o.k.

We bought it several years ago when we thought that we might do some western riding, but have never actually put it on a horse. It is a Tex tan saddle, with some nice basket weaving etc., and in pretty good condition. I am not into western so really can't tell you that much.

What price range were you considering? We paid nearly a thousand for this saddle, but will probably take less.

Cheers

Lynn

Hi Lynn,
My horse is in the Barossa Valley, not far from Angaston.
Oh I use to own a Tex Tan saddle, loved it... that was many years ago.
Do you have a pic you can send on please? If you send one, could you please resize it as Im still on dial up at home...
I was hoping to get something under $1,000 as like most Im on a limited budget and still need to get other gear for her... so price sounds to be about right.
Look forward to hearing from you...
Cheers,
Sue

Still looking,
Lyn was nice enough to go out her way and bring her saddle over to try on Lacey, but unfortunately it didnt fit... it is a Lovely saddle and just what I wanted Sad
Im am going to need something that would suit a more narrow horse with a high wither...
Cheers,
Sue
