My family and I are now looking for our new family pet after losing our 12yo Rottweiler at the end of June.
We guarantee a loving, life long home.
We would prefer the pup to be desexed but it is not a huge deal if the pup isn't as we can arrange for it to be done once home and settled in, but we do ask that they are up to date with their vaccinations, worming etc
Male or female, we aren't too fussed on the gender. ( Although I think Dad would love another male in the house
Would prefer a pup that is 12 weeks old and no older than 4 or 5 months old.
We are looking at either a kelpie or border collie, will consider other breeds just as long as they are not too large and would prefer a breed that needs exercise every day as i am back into the fitness side of things after a few injuries so a running partner would be great once the pup old enough. Yes we know what the breed is like and we do not intend on just leaving him/her in the backyard, will be exercised daily, if not twice a day when I go for my daily runs. Will also be looking into some agility trials etc with a club once old enough. Will be taken out daily and socialised with other dogs, people and also horses.
We will take our time with selecting our new family member as they will be with us for life and we want to make sure that we find the right puppy for us.
We are not looking at adopting from a shelter (nothing against the shelters, it is just a personal preference and a decision made by our family). We are looking to purchase from a registered breeder (as we have done so with all of out past pets) - I have posted on the SA Equine Forum incase anyone has any reccomendations.
Please PM me if you have or know of anyone here in South Australia breeding either Kelpies or Border Collies, we aren't looking interstate just yet but will consider it down the track if we do not find the right puppy here.
If you have any questions, please PM me instead of starting a repeat of the other thread.
We are in no hurry to find our new family member
