| Have to Say that Clare is Great, had the Chiro, vet and Farrier look at my girl who would not let you pick up one leg, she would lean all her weight in on you and then bring her head around your back as if to say "please dont it hurts". So in total frustration after not getting any ideas from the Chiro, vet or farrier Clare spent last Saturday going over my mare and giving her a complete massage Clare found the muscle that is causing pain Yahoo so now I have spoken with the vet and she has advised rest to repair. All thanks to Clare and yep have her booked in a fortnight to go over my OTTB. Cant thank Clare enough | |

| We're entering the busy season for massage, so if your horse's needs are time-sensitive due to competition etc please book as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment - of course if it's an emergency I will do my best to squeeze you in! | |

| Oooh, my old boy would LOVE a massage! He went really lame the other day though, so I'll just see how he is tonight before I give you a call or email. I suspect he either pulled a muscle in the paddock or more likely did something stupid when rolling in his stable - maybe even cast himself. I try and give him hands on massages myself, and I always notice how much he loves them and how much better he moves after, so I'm sure having someone who is way more experienced and whose back isn't going to die half way through the massage would be amazing!!! | |

| I can vouch for Clare. She's very good, takes whatever time is needed and resolves problems others can't. Highly recommend. | |

| Thanks Clare! I replied to your email too. I do have scoliosis, so sometimes my back just gets sore whether I like it or not! I get half way through giving Josh a massage, slow down because of my back and he looks at me like "no mum, I didn't ask you to stop, I was enjoying that!" | |

| Oh I see, I went through horse massage school with a girl with scoliosis! Makes it trickier but also means you work smarter! | |

| SEASONAL UPDATEIf you notice your horse moving stiffly at this time of year, please check for laminitis symptoms! Soreness may be showing up through the back and shoulders but please also check for a bounding pulse and heat in the hooves (even if they don't have the classic 'stance'). Massage increases circulation which aids healing, but can also increase acute inflammation in an unwell horse. If your horse presents as laminitic I will refer you to a vet without charging for the consultation - I am more than happy to return to work through resulting muscular compensation issues once the inflammation has subsided, but it's best to get veterinary/hoofcare professional attention during acute stages. If in doubt, remember I'm always available to chat and there's no harm in postponing your treatment I am more concerned that your horse gets the best outcome from their bodywork. | |
