| I'm buying a new equissage unit for my boys and I'm thinking about doing other peoples horses if I have the time aswell
I travel from Adelaide to Lewiston to Williamstown almost daily
Is anyone out there interested in having Equissage treatments for there horse.
I'm buying one as I travel alot with my horses and I see the real benefits of using one all the time, especially when travelling

| Iris got a free Equissage treatment yesterday from equitana, and the lady who treated her (who usually sells the units) said she didn't know of anyone in the area who did treatments, so I imagine there would be lots of interest. Iris would love you to come over and give her a treatment, she really enjoyed it yesterday lol. | |

| No one does treatments really, just a few people around who have bought them for private use like we have | |

| there is someone in the northern suburbs that does treatments
So apart prom buying the unit what training are you going to do to be able to provide the treatments? what other education on horse anatomy and bio mechanics do you have? and will you have your own insurance ?
Just a couple of questions i would ask before using a new person for treatment so worth considering as ia m sure i would not be the only one asking them

| Still thinking about doing it for people I know maybe
I'm actually a sports trainer and have researched the horse anatomy due to my interests. I'm a qualified masseuse and have done a bit of horse massage only to benefit my own as my hands don't take it like they use to anymore!
While in Melbourne for the Nationals I did alot of training with the equissage with the lady over there on the horses just in interest of learning how they help etc.
But KOG you make a good point about insurance, that just might be in the 2 hard basket as I'm not looking into making heaps of money on the side or as a business so maybe I will just keep to my own, as I never thought about insurance and stuff. But the one thing I like about the equissage is no matter how inexperienced the person is you can't hurt anyone or horse.
I just really need it as we travel so much and the benefits I saw was huge | |

| There is a also a young lady in One Tree Hill (from Williamstown PC) who has a unit and will do treatments, but she is working full-time now, so I don't think she does it much anymore. DL,- let us know if you decide to do it,- we had a free treatment for one of our horses once and it was FANTASTIC!!!!! | |

| I looked into this as a part time business incorporating other things as well - if you are wanting to make money from it you will be hard pressed to do so. A lot of people actually service the northern area but they are all just private people... Not only that but because soooo many people do it pricing is good for the consumer - not so good for the provider!
From my own experience and looking into the facts for my business plan I would say if your getting it for your own horses, awesome! If your hoping to make money offering it to other people think again, I have a TAFE cert within the industry so I was able to get reasonably priced insurance but if you do not its not really that cheap.... Keep in mind you will actually need indemnity insurance to do this as well - you could do it without but if a freak accident happens you risk losing EVERYTHING!!
