Hi there all, welcome to the South Australian Equine Forum!

Just a couple of 'rules' for posting here.......

We would like to keep this as simple as possible for all involved.....so here goes!

When you first register for the forum you will have seen this and had to agree to it:

Forum Terms of service

The moderators of this forum will try hard to edit or remove reprehensible messages as soon as possible. However, it is impossible for them to review all the messages. You thus admit that all the messages posted on this forum express the sight and opinion of their respective authors and not those of the moderators or the Webmaster (except messages posted by them) and consequently, they cannot be held responsible of the discussions.

This forum uses cookies to store information on your computer. These cookies will not contain any personal information; they are only used to improve comfort while browsing. The address e-mail is only used in order to confirm the details of your registration as your password (and also to send you back your password if you forget it).

- Aggressive or slanderous messages, as well as personal insults and critics, the coarseness and vulgarities, and more generally any message contravening the French laws are prohibited.
- Messages who promote - or evoke - illegal practices are prohibited.
- If you post informations which come from another site
, look first if the site in question doesn't forbid it. Show the address of the site in question in order to respect the work of their administrators!
- Please post your messages only once. The repetitions are unpleasant and useless!
- Please make an effort on grammar and spelling. SMS-style language (ex: r u sk8ing?) is not advised!

Any message contravening the listing above will be edited or removed without additional notice or justification within deadlines which will depend on the availability of the moderators. Any abuse will involve the cancellation of the registration. Internet is neither an anonymous space, nor a space of no-right! We reserve ourselves the possibility of informing your access provider and/or the legal authorities of any malevolent behavior. An IP address of each poster is recorded in order to help us to make you respect these conditions.

By clicking on " I agree to these terms " below:
- You acknowledge to have fully read these current rules;
- You commit yourself to respect unreservedly these current rules;
- You grant the moderators of this forum the right to delete, move or edit any discussion subject at any moment.

Additional Rules are:

# 1. Discuss, debate and disagree - but please do it fairly. Name calling and other derogatory comments will not be tolerated - offenders will have their post either modified or removed, and will be emailed with a warning to tone down. You can always take a more personal disagreement to either private message or email.

# 2. Please refrain from harassing other members, making defamatory or abusive remarks, or publicly putting down trainers, breeders, owners or other people involved in the horse industry. If you have something to say about someone that is less than positive - please take it to PM or email so as not to open up yourself or the forum to possible action from the person or persons involved.

# 3. Photos can be posted in your messages, but they must be limited to a size of no more than 600 x 600 pixels. The reason for this is images that are too wide make the screen scroll too far to the right (and that can get annoying). Photos will not influence our bandwidth, but keep in mind that images that are larger than 30kb will take a while to download on some members’ computers. If you need help resizing an image, please email admin and they will be glad to assist. Please refer to #5 for the rules regarding copyright images.

# 4. We have decided not to place too many word filters on this board. We are all human and we all know how to swear. Be mindful that there are people of ALL ages reading and participating in this forum. If it's not a word that you'd hear on TV before midnight, then don't use it on here. If you wouldn't use that word at your children or mother - don't use it here! (and for those who WOULD use those words at their children or mother - please consider that other people may not want to hear them!)

# 5. Please refrain from posting anything that is under copyright. There are stiff penalties for reproducing any material whether it be written material or images where you do not have permission from the copyright owner for its reproduction in any way shape or form. This forum takes no responsibility for what its members may put up here, but material that is blatantly copied and pasted without permission will be removed.

Links to sites are permitted however as this is not a breach of copyright. So if in doubt and you have found information or pictures you wish to share with others on the internet, please just post the link to that site with instructions on how to find what you wish to share.

# 6. Advertising is FREE.... go for your life. Just pop your ads in the appropriate sections please! Please don't post the same ad 10 times - simply edit your ad if you need to - you can even change the title. If you would like your ad to stay at the top of the page as a 'sticky', there is a small cost. PM Admin for details.

# 7. Membership - Admin and Mods reserve the right to refuse, reject or delete any membership to the forum at any time. The Moderators are there to do their jobs and keep things nice. DO NOT argue with a moderator. If you have an issue - take it to a PM to the Mod involved, or the entire Mod team - or Admin. Just because you may get away with having the 'last word' with many people you come across in life does NOT mean this will be the case here. If you are in the poop - take it on the chin and deal with it.

# 8. SAEF Rings at Shows - Please see the SAEF Rings at Shows section on the forum and read the entry requirements prior to entering classes. Anyone found to be breaching the rules of entry to the ring will be removed from the ring, and will be possibly removed from the forum. By joining the forum you agree to adhere to the SAEF Rings At Shows rules and will meet the requirements for showing which are listed below prior to entering classes. You also agree to enter the classes with the spirit of the forum and the intent for the classes in mind.

SAEF CLASSES

Eligibility For SAEF Classes at shows:

You must be a member of the forum for a minimum of 3 months prior to the show and be a regular contributing member with a post count of at least 15 posts per month. These posts must be actually contributions to the forum and its members - not just 'how cute' 'hi and welcome' 'nope, dont like it' 'or advertising/posts in the buy/swap/sell section. Actual discussions must be taken part in. Joining up and posting 45 times in quick succession will not be acceptable nor will joining and posting your 15 minimum posts for a month over one or a few days to get the count up. You have to actually be a CONTRIBUTING MEMBER! Alternatively - if you have been a member for quite some time and by checking back through your posts Admin can verify that you are indeed a contributing member then your join up date and contributions will be taken into account. If unsure as to your eligibility - PM SAEF SC or email: showcoordinatorsaef@gmail.com

Also: Please note we are enforcing a "SAEF Show Membership Fee" of $10.00 It needs to be paid prior to the show, all other relevent show fees be paid to the show organisers as per their program (as SAEF does not get the class entry fees collected these go to the show).

As it would be an easy thing to have the fee collected and names written down for the steward to check off on the day. No name = no entry. No entry on the day is to make things easier, and for courtesy's sake, if you pay the fee but can't make the show, then it carries over to the next show

Fees are to be submitted to the bank account listed in the SAEF Classes section of the Forum.

There is a 'three strikes and you are out rule - if you get two warnings for anything you post that is inappropriate, the third time you will be deleted from the membership list. In rare and extreme cases, it may be that the Moderators and Admin all agree that you are out on a first offense if it is something particularly horrid.

If you are on a suspension or ban - you may NOT use someone elses log in to view or comment on the forum with or without their knowledge. If caught out - it will mean a permanent ban for both yourself and the person whose log in you used.

If you are on a suspension or ban - you may NOT sign up under a different user name.

Only ONE log in per person (with the exception of moderators and admin who may have their personal log in and their moderator log in names) is allowed. Anyone caught with more than one log in name will be banned.

Please do NOT copy and paste posts or threads from this forum and post elsewhere - be that in emails, word documents, PDF files etc unless instructed to do so or permission has been sought from Admin or Moderators prior to copying them. WHAT HAPPENS ON THE FORUM - STAYS ON THE FORUM!!!

All comments, opinions on any topic, horse health or veterinary type tips given on this site are the responsibility of the person posting them, and not of the forum owners or administrators. Please note that while you may receive some good tips and information on an internet forum, it should NOT replace the advice of your professionally trained Veterinary Surgeon or a trained Equine Nutritionist, Equine Body Worker etc......

As far as training tips go - people on this forum may or may not be qualified to give you information that you ask for and keep in mind that it is very difficult to explain how to correct a problem or train a horse over the internet.

Feel free to email me at any time at: saequineforum@gmail.com

Notation made on: Thursday 2nd June 2011:

Right guys, MOST members here are being really lovely, supportive, and are obviously enjoying the forum....

SOME members are being snipey, catty, and having either indirect or direct shots at other members at any given opportunity, and are obviously taking great delight in baiting others to get a reaction.

You do not 'have' to read all the links below however you may find them helpful. These links are provided so that you are aware that there IS information out there regarding these issues and that it may be in your best interest to brush up on what is and what is not allowed in 'society' today. 'Society' today includes the internet on a fairly large scale.

Cyber Bullying and Cyber Harrassment & Cyber Stalking will NOT be tolerated by this Forums Admin and Moderators - have a read of the following links:

Again, I will note that Admin and the Moderators of the SA Equine Forum are NOT responsible for anything that another member may say to you on or off forum via phone, in person, to someone else, via email, text message, facebook, internet chat etc....

You are all responsible for your OWN actions. Admin and Mods will duck in and 'clean up the mess' when required.

If you have a complaint about a member, a particular post, an entire thread etc... PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

Email to: saequineforum@gmail.com - This sends an email to Admin. Please keep in mind that Admin and Mods do NOT sit on the computer 24 hours a day waiting for someone to report a post or to trawl through ALL the posts put up here and tidy up after everyone - so PLEASE be patient if it takes a while for the Report to be dealt with.

Admin or the Mod who receives the Report and deals with it should send you a message back to say that its been dealt with. You may get an in depth answer, you may not. But acknowledgement of your report of the post should arrive in your PM inbox at some point.

Email Admin directly if required - please note that doing this - at saequineforum@gmail.com will come to Admins inbox, and may NOT be checked every 2 minutes every moment of every day.... so hitting Report Post is Quicker and Easier.... as is sending a message to the Moderators on the forum via PM.

DO NOT phone Admin with your complaint unless it is a life threatening situation - ie: a poster has spat the dummy with you and said they are coming around to your place NOW and are going to do whatever to you that is not very nice.... IN THIS CASE - you should CALL THE POLICE first!!!! NOT Admin.... And phoning Admin because you are drowning in the ocean due to the advice of going out to sea in a garbage bin with holes drilled in it you took from a forum member is NOT a life threatening situation... and well, if you do take that sort of advice from an internet forum - maybe it NEEDS to be a life threatening situation! lol....

Admin does NOT always have access to a computer/internet to go and look at a problem or fix it right there and then.

So, folks - what do we do if we have an issue??? EMAIL: saequineforum@gmail.com

Most importantly - if someone says something to offend you - IGNORE their post, and either dont post in that thread, or post your view, but do it POLITELY.

If you MUST react to the offending post - a simple "I appreciate your point of view - however I disagree..."

DO NOT get into name calling, telling people to 'shut up', 'up yours', 'F' Words and the like are NOT going to be tolerated.

Telling someone to "F" off, or the like WILL result in an instant three day ban from the forum.

MOST of the time, if someone does something offensive - The Mod who does the cleanup of the mess will move the offending post to the Deleted Threads and Posts section for the other Mods and Admin to see and comment on.

If you post a question, opinion etc on the forum, please remember that people are likely to react, respond etc, and it may not be in the manner you would like. YOU are responsible for what you post, and if you do not want to hear others points of view or advice, DONT ask!!!!

Occasionally, if a post gets a bit off topic and a bit rough and the mod doesnt have time to deal with it all right then - and just needs to edit a few things out of a few peoples posts - the thread will be moved to the Deleted Threads and Posts section for editing and then placing back on the forum when its fixed up. So if there is a fairly easy going thread happening and a few people get into it - and the mod doesnt have time to deal with it all right then - dont stress, it will likely be back for people to keep posting in - but may take a few hours!! Smile

As most will know - the Admin job has been shared by a couple of people lately due to things happening in real life! PLEASE DO NOT take advantage of that. And know that ADMIN WILL KICK YOUR BUTTS if it is discovered that abuse of the Private Message system is taking place and people are being targeted.

Other than that, if you dont feel at all guilty about anything that has been written in this post - and be brutally honest with yourselves - then you are one of the many very lovely people who post here and 'miss' most of the 'fun' (???) that goes on behind the scenes and its all good - many bouquets of flowers to you!!

If you do feel a bit guilty or think this is aimed at you personally - please severely rethink your attitude and behaviour towards the members on this forum Smile

The forum was started to be a nice friendly place for all SA (and elsewhere) horse enthusiasts to be able to chat and share their love for their horses and life with each other Smile Lets keep it that way please! SmileSmile

The forum owner/Admin is NOT responsible for the actions of any of the moderators, members or guests on the forum, including people and businesses advertising goods and services. Admin will deal with any complaints as quickly and simply as possible. Remember that if you dont like the forum, its rules or the moderation - then you have the right to request your membership be deleted and you may leave the forum.

Admin will NOT disclose the identity of the moderators because you do not like something that has been said to you by one of them. Just because you have had a disagreement with a moderator does not give you any right to know who they are. The mod team has been picked because it is believed by Admin that the people doing that job are fair and reasonable people with the ability to moderate based on decisions other than 'personal' feelings about posters.

Thanks to a former member for supplying this little gem... - a little something that is simpler than all of the above for you all to remember:

Imagine this is a dinner party. Differences of opinion are welcome but keep it respectful or the host will show you the door. If you're rude or abusive, your comment will be deleted (so will comments responding to other rude comments because they won’t make sense - so save your breath). And if you’re offensive, you’ll be banned. Remember what Fonzie was like? Cool. That's how we're going to be - cool. Have fun and thanks for adding to the conversation...

When posting queries regarding businesses or individuals - please refrain from using "PM Me" in the question. ANYONE posting "PM Me and let me know who/what/where/when in a thread will have that post removed by a Moderator as soon as a Mod or Admin sees it, and do not use the 'ohhh I know who you mean' or other such lines.

Robust debate is good. Personal attacks will be deleted.

Please do not publish your bad experiences on the thread, PM them or contact them by other means.
If you had a really bad experience with a company/individual - please clarify your comment with
"This is my personal experience and is NOT the view of Admin or Mods"

Constructive critisim so that if the business/individaul reads it, they can see why you have complained in a public forum.

Be prepared for Business/Individuals to defend themselves against any of your claims.

Respect others opinions and methods. What works for you may not work for them.

If a post has been moderated by Mods or Admin - please respect that the Mod or Admin who edited your post or someone elses, had good reason, or may have just tidied up some of the language/wording if required.

The Forum and Admin do not wish to have to defend a case in court because of something that YOU have posted.

Regards, Admin and Mods Smile

Hi all, sorry to inconvenience you if you are not a member but have enjoyed reading our forum and what people are up to, however we have had to make a few changes to the system to keep it all friendly Smile

Im sure that you will understand our reasons when I say that we have had to do this because a couple of members have had unwanted emails and 'rumors' spread about them, and while there is nothing to 'hide' on the forum, we want to make sure that our members who post feel like they are talking to 'family' and 'friends' without having to worry too much about whether they will get an email from someone quoting what they have just typed!

So, if you would like to continue reading, why not join up and join in on our conversations Smile

Regards,

Admin and Mods.

Can people please read the rules again, and also the registering requirements?

I have had a lot of new membership requests but only a couple have actually followed up with the email and information requested.

Those who have not - your accounts will NOT be activated!!!! Simple as that! We love new members and welcome them however I do not have time to send people emails requesting information if they 'forget' to send it in... or cant read the 'you need to do this to be activated' section..... and well, if they cant read that bit - then have they read the rules and understood them???

Please also note that Admin and Mods do not have time to run around saving you from what you post yourself?

The Edit button on the posts is there for a certain time frame - if you make a mistake - use it.... if you post something you think 'oh i probably should not have done that' - use that edit button.... or suck it up and take the responses given - just because you post something doesnt mean that everyone is going to have the same opinion as you do. Smile

Providing the differences of opinion and advice are given politely, in a non condescending manner and are in accordance with the posting rules for the forum - there is no real issue - if you are offended in any way - then perhaps you need to consider what you have posted in the first place.

To everyone else - WELL DONE - the forum is a lovely place full of wonderful information, friendships formed, and pictures shared.
